We are currently seeking an experienced Colorist to join our Film Department. This role focuses on grading catalog feature films and episodic titles remastered from 35mm and 16mm film elements.
The Colorist will be responsible for SDR and HDR grading of archival and catalog content sourced from log film scans. The ideal candidate combines strong creative instincts with a deep technical understanding of color science and modern HDR workflows, ensuring both artistic integrity and technical precision across deliverables.
HDR & SDR ColoristRole Type:
Freelance
- 5 years of long-form color correction experience (feature or episodic)
- Advanced proficiency in DaVinci Resolve
- Strong understanding of color science, color-managed workflows, and 4K mastering
- Hands-on experience with P3, HDR (PQ/HLG), and Dolby Vision workflows
- Solid grasp of exposure, contrast ratios, color temperature, and other photometric principles
- Familiarity with film-based workflows, print stock characteristics, and archival material handling (preferred)
- Working knowledge of file formats, codecs, color gamut, transfer functions, and broadcast/digital legal requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect and correct subtle image issues
- Strong troubleshooting and talent communication skills during live grading review sessions
- Excellent communication skills when working with clients and internal teams
