The Montgomery Symphony Orchestra is holding auditions for Section Violin positions for the season. The Final date to receive applications is October 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM CST. There will be no live auditions; candidates must submit recorded performances. Selected musicians will be offered a one-year term position, with potential for renewal or permanent roles at the end of the season.
The orchestra's season includes various performances, including a special event featuring Yo-Yo Ma and multiple subscription and pops programs.
Applicants should submit their application along with a video recording of the required audition excerpts through the specified online platform. The recording must be a single continuous take without edits, showing the full body of the performer. Specific excerpts from various orchestral works and a solo piece are required for the audition. Compensation includes $100 per service for approximately 40 services per season, along with mileage reimbursement and housing for those traveling significant distances.
