Job Summary: The Art + Media + Design Gallery Monitor is expected to be in the gallery to greet visitors, watch over the art,and tend to duties that pertain to maintaining the gallery needs. Students whoare hired in this role will represent the gallery professionally. Such responsibilities for gallery monitors will be helping the gallery director, exhibition curators and exhibiting artists with installing and breaking down shows.

Gallery monitors will be present during hours as agreed.

Responsibilities:

• Open gallery and the gates every day.
• Greet and monitor visitors in the gallery.
• Represent the department in all aspects in a professional manner.
• Help gallery director and exhibiting artists with installing and breaking down shows.
• Be a presence during Gallery hours as well as shows and exhibitions as agreed.
• Assisting the Administrative Assistant and Department Chair with various office tasks.
• Lock the gallery door and close the gates at the end of the day.

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be professional.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure procedures are followed accurately.
• This is a full semester commitment, ability to attend all shows is must.

Additional Information:

• Working Hours:
  
  11:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. This position will require 10-15hrs. weekly.
• Pay Rate:
  Starting at $ Hrs/week.

Employment Eligibility & University Commitment

Must be at least 18 years old and have English literacy skills. Employment with ESU is contingent on the selected candidate passing a thorough background check that includes: FBI fingerprinting, PA Child Abuse, and employment.
