Musical Director for High-School Spring Musical

Seeking a Musical Director to work under the supervision of the Director in support of the spring musical theater production during the  school year. Our program is unique in that we rehearse our musical during our class period within the school day. The only exception is our tech week when we add afternoon/evening rehearsals. Our class period is from 2:00-2:45 pm each weekday with the exception of every other week when we don’t meet on Wednesdays and we meet for a longer period on Thursdays from 12:55-2:15.The

successful candidate should be able to participate in auditions on October 26-30, rehearsals from mid-January to mid
- February, and tech/performance week from Apr. 24
- May1, 2027.

PAY RANGE: $1,750

• High-school diploma;
  Associate's degree or greater is preferred.
• Experience working with K-12 students preferred.

• Musical director experience
• Vocal director experience
• Music degree or equivalent experience
• Experience working with students in a school setting

• Auditions:
  Attend actor auditions if available, assess singers' vocal ranges and abilities, and help the director cast the show.
• Music Rehearsals:
  Teach the cast their singing parts, harmonies, and rhythms, ensuring everyone sounds great together.
• Tech Week: attend a portion of tech week rehearsals to ensure music is solid.
• Note:
  
  We will not have a live pit orchestra and therefore will not need the musical director to conduct the show.

• Technically knowledgeable about play and musical production and experience working with student performers.
• A proven, verifiable record of placing appropriate emphasis on academic excellence and character development.
• A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with student performers, parents, colleagues, and administration.
• Full background check required for hire.

• The ability to lift 30 pounds or more when needed.

• Starting at $1750 (possibly higher based on background, experience, and/or institutional alignment).
• Enrollment in Colorado’s Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) and employer contributions to your PERA retirement account.
• Earned sick leave in accordance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces (HFWA) Act.
