Location Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History – Bardstown, Kentucky (On-site; some local travel for shoots may be required)

Join the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History as our part-time Photographer & Videographer, producing high-quality visual content that celebrates our exhibits, events, and the rich story of America’s native spirit. This is a hands-on creative role ideal for someone who thrives on storytelling through the lens.

The Photographer & Videographer documents museum programs, exhibitions, staff interviews, and special events for use across digital, print, and archival platforms. This role supports marketing, educational outreach, and institutional storytelling with polished visual media. It requires technical expertise, creative vision, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Photograph museum exhibits, events, programs, staff portraits, and behind-the-scenes activities.
• Shoot and edit short-form and long-form video content for web, social media, and in-gallery use.
• Maintain an organized digital asset library, including photo metadata and usage rights.
• Assist with live-streaming or video conferencing setups for select programs.
• Collaborate with marketing and digital content teams to plan and produce visual campaigns.
• Ensure consistency in visual tone, lighting, and branding across media.
• Manage and maintain photo/video equipment and backup systems.

• Proven experience in photography and videography, including portfolio of work.
• Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lighting setups, and audio recording.
• Strong editing skills using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop.
• Attention to detail and visual composition.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

• Experience working with museums, archives, or cultural institutions.
• Knowledge of bourbon history or Kentucky culture.
• Motion graphics or animation skills.
• Drone photography certification.
• Understanding of ADA compliance and captioning for digital video.

• Capture compelling, mission-aligned content that supports outreach, fundraising, and storytelling.
• Be responsive to cross-departmental needs for photo and video assets.
• Uphold ethical and professional standards in representing the museum visually.
• Stay organized and meet production deadlines consistently.
