Job Description

Performs a variety of general duties related to the Airport parking lots including operations, maintenance, and customer service.

Supervision Received

Works under general supervision of the Airport Assistant Director of Finance & Administration with direct supervision from the Landside Supervisor.

Supervision Exercised

None.

We have one opening available for a morning shift from 0430 to 0930.

Essential Functions
  • Performs duties with professionalism, kindness, and politeness when interacting with co-workers, contractors, airport tenants, and Airport customers.
  • Provides exemplary customer service, including assisting customers with jump-starting dead batteries and inflating flat tires.
  • Assists customers entering and exiting parking lots, answers questions, and schedules appointments with appropriate Airport staff.
  • Works collaboratively with Landside Maintenance and Operations Specialists to best serve customers.
  • Shuttles Airport customers to and from parking lots and the terminal building in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Operates computer, printer, credit card reader, two-way radio, and other standard office equipment.
  • Processes payments, issues receipts, and resolves customer issues promptly and accurately.
  • Ensures sufficient ticket stock and replaces it as necessary.
  • Assists staff in performs inventory counts and prepares related reports.
  • Performs checklist tasks for each shift.
  • Routinely inspects parking equipment for functionality, connectivity, cleanliness, and signs of tampering.
  • Reports malfunctioning or damaged equipment to supervisor and completes incident reports as needed.
  • Performs minor repairs on parking equipment.
  • Ensures all equipment, networking boxes, and cameras are adequately protected from the elements and kept free from snow, ice, and debris.
  • Opens and closes parking lot entrances for capacity management, construction, or equipment issues.
  • Patrols parking lots to monitor security issues, trash and debris, flat tires, damaged or vandalized vehicles, and other irregularities.
  • Alerts supervisor of safety hazards, security issues, or unusual activities.
  • Reports any tampering or vandalism and completes incident documentation as required.
  • Supports police, fire, EMS, and other emergency responders with access to parking areas during emergencies and participates in the Incident Command System (ICS) as needed.
  • Performs light custodial duties to maintain clean and tidy parking booths.
  • Cleans debris and trash from parking lots.
  • Performs snow removal around parking booths and pedestrian walkways.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
    • Graduation from high school or GED; AND
    • One (1) year experience in demonstrated strong customer service skills and exposure to data entry, receipting, and cash handling.
    • OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Working knowledge of cash handling, payment processing, and safe-guarding receipts; working knowledge of standard office equipment; working knowledge of traffic laws.
    • Knowledge of Idaho Falls and surrounding area to provide customer service in finding locations around town, places to stay and eat, etc.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills;
    • ability to communicate effectively with administrative staff, fellow employees, and the public;
    • basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;
    • ability to troubleshoot equipment issues;
    • ability to work in all seasons and types of weather including use of snow shovel during snow events;
    • ability to operate shuttle van including utilizing wheelchair lift and safety equipment.
    • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and follow all product safety and airport material handling procedures.

    Qualifications:
    • Must possess a valid State of Idaho driver's license.
