Location: Northern

The Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce is hiring a part-time Visitor Center Specialist to help welcome visitors to Mount Dora and connect them with everything our community has to offer.

Located inside Mount Dora’s Historic Train Depot, the Visitor Center serves as a resource for visitors looking for information on local restaurants, shopping, attractions, tours, events, accommodations, area history and more. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, knows and loves the Mount Dora area, and can help create a welcoming experience for guests.

Spanish-speaking ability is strongly preferred.

Schedule

Friday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

Flexibility for occasional additional hours before or after scheduled shifts is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome visitors and assist with questions in person and by phone
  • Provide recommendations and information about Mount Dora restaurants, shops, attractions, tours, events and other area resources
  • Maintain brochures, maps and informational materials inside the Visitor Center and exterior kiosks
  • Keep the Visitor Center, displays and merchandise areas clean and organized
  • Track daily visitor information and maintain accurate records in Google Sheets
  • Sell Visitor Center merchandise, including T-shirts, commemorative bricks and other items
  • Stay informed about Chamber member businesses, local events and community updates
  • Update and print Visitor Center information as needed
  • Fulfill visitor information and mail requests
  • Assist with brochure and map inventory and other basic administrative duties
  • Communicate with Chamber members and community partners as needed
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of and enthusiasm for Mount Dora and the surrounding area
  • Spanish-speaking or bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Friendly, professional and comfortable working with the public
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Dependable and able to work independently
  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, including Google Docs and Google Sheets
  • Willingness to learn point-of-sale and other Visitor Center systems
  • Availability to work the regular Friday and Saturday schedule
