As a Christmas Village Attendant, you'll be at the heart of the guest experience, greeting visitors, guiding families through activities, assisting with ticketing, and helping create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all.   • Provide information, instruction, and access to Christmas Village, including handouts, verbal instructions, and other guidance as needed
  • Scan tickets at points of entry
  • Assist with ease of entrance to activities
  • Utilize the Museum’s ticketing software by:
  • Opening and closing purchase terminals.
  • Selling tickets
  • Reconciling daily sales with manager on duty
  • Fulfill routine functions, including distributing materials and maintaining signs
  • Serve as ambassadors and guides to family activities by:
  • Describing activities to guests
  • Explaining safety procedures
  • Assisting guests with materials and supplies
  • Maintaining activity zones for organization and accessibility for all
  • Opening and closing areas at the beginning and end of program times or as required
  • Function as ushers at house tour entrance
  • Work with other Museum staff in a collaborative team environment
  • Other tasks determined by supervisor

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Must have excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Computer and cash-handling experience required
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort in retail or hospitality
  • Enthusiastic desire to be part of a leading cultural organization
  • Able to maintain a professional demeanor and effectively and tactfully deal with guest complaints and concerns if they arise
  • Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision and stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (in tandem).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Naturally upbeat
  • Appreciation for the holidays
  • Fluency in more than one language a plus, preferably Spanish
  • Commitment to providing a welcoming and festive holiday experience for all
