Job DescriptionThe DC Student Assistants will assist and support the day-to-day operations of the center, exemplifying excellent customer service around student involvement, diversity and inclusion, and support/engagement within Butler University.
Applicants must be trustworthy, dependable, adaptable, communicative, self-starting and remain in good standing with the university. Additionally, applicants should have an understanding of the intersectional identities of DC affiliates and be willing to learn about the concepts of institutional and structural racism, bias, and impact on underrepresented student populations.
NOTE:
Final date to receive applications IS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21 at 5pm.
The Role of a Student Assistant:
- Staff the front desk of the DC serving as a proactive resource and support for all constituents utilizing the DC
- Greet guests on a regular basis, assisting them with their needs promptly and professionally with quality customer service
- Regularly complete DC items inventory and maintaining the organization of items in storage spaces
- Assist with the center’s social media accounts by designing and posting graphics and maintaining audience engagement
- Assist with the implementation of DC programs and events
- Assist professional staff at various admissions events
- Support student organizations affiliated with the DC
- Ensure that the physical space is neat and orderly by lightly cleaning and disinfecting the space
- Follow and enforce university policies and center procedures
- Support/maintain day to day operation of the DC
- Support professional staff across the Division of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
- Provide tours of the center to guests, prospective students and families, alumni, etc.
- Complete one passion project per semester, as approved by and discussed with supervisor
- Other Duties assigned
