Position SummaryShape the future of dental care by becoming a Part-Time Dental Hygiene Instructor at Pima Medical Institute! Are you ready to transition your clinical mastery into a rewarding academic career?
In this focused 8–12 hour per week daytime role, you will guide students through classroom instruction in a CODA-accredited curriculum. This light part-time schedule allows you to move away from the full-time clinical grind while remaining at the forefront of dental hygiene education and keeping your skills sharp as an academic mentor.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional Delivery & Student Mentorship:
Classroom Teaching: Prepare and deliver high-quality daily lesson plans and lectures in a classroom environment, using active learning methodologies to build student critical thinking.
Academic Monitoring: Track student progress, identify learning gaps, and provide early intervention or tutoring for at‑risk students.
Curriculum Alignment: Reinforce didactic principles and dental science standards to prepare students for professional licensure examinations.
Compliance & Program Administration:
Accreditation Support: Assist in continuous curriculum review and support accreditation reporting to maintain CODA program standards.
Administrative Integrity: Maintain precise and timely student attendance, grade books, and academic records per institutional and accreditation policies.
Professional Feedback: Deliver constructive, substantive evaluations that encourage student confidence, knowledge retention, and professional growth.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (Baccalaureate) from an academic institution accredited by an agency recognized by the USDE or CHEA.
Program Graduate: Graduation from a CODA-accredited Dental Hygiene or Dental program.
Clinical
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a Dental Hygienist or Dentist.Licensure: Current, active Texas state license to practice dental hygiene or dentistry, plus all state-required credentials (including CPR certification).
Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Workspace.
Hiring Range: $31.00 to $38.75 per hour, based on experience.
