The Department of Dermatology at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine is a nationally recognized academic department dedicated to excellence in patient care, research, and education. As one of the fastest-growing clinical departments within the School of Medicine, the Department provides comprehensive dermatologic care across multiple clinical sites throughout Orange County and serves as a regional referral center for complex skin diseases.
The Department supports a diverse and dynamic portfolio of activities, including a robust clinical enterprise, nationally recognized residency and fellowship training programs, and a growing research program supported by federal, foundation, and industry funding. Faculty are leaders in medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, skin cancer, inflammatory skin diseases, regenerative medicine, and women's skin health. An integral component of the Department is its expanding Dermatopathology Laboratory, which provides high-quality diagnostic services in support of UCI Health's clinical mission.
With a strong reputation for diagnostic excellence and a commitment to innovation, the laboratory is positioned for significant growth, with strategic plans to expand services throughout the Southern California healthcare community. While functioning as an independent laboratory, the dermatopathology service also collaborates with the Department of Pathology on opportunities to improve quality and patient care both within the UCI system and beyond it.

Uses skills as a seasoned and experienced administrative operations professional to manage, plan and administer the operations of a small to mid-sized academic or non-academic department or organizational unit with limited scope. May report to a chair, director, or a higher-level administrative operations professional or manager. Perform short- and long-term planning for the organization. May supervise staff or students. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Your Role on the Team The Department of Dermatology at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine is seeking a highly organized and motivated professional to support the operations and growth of its Dermatopathology Laboratory. As part of one of the fastest-growing clinical departments within the School of Medicine, the laboratory provides specialized diagnostic services that support patient care across UCI Health and the broader community.
