The Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District (CSWCD) is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and community-minded individual to apply for our newly established Outreach and Communications Coordinator to lead and strengthen the District’s public engagement and communications efforts. This position offers a unique opportunity to connect people with the conservation of soil, water, and related natural resources by developing compelling communications, marketing strategies, and fostering meaningful partnerships to expand awareness of the District’s mission, programs, and impact throughout Clackamas County.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the District’s public presence and helping bring to life an up-and-coming District-owned demonstration farm serving as a vibrant destination for education, community engagement, and hands-on learning.

Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District is a regional leader in conserving natural resources in Oregon and offers a competitive wage schedule and an excellent benefits package. Full-time District employees become eligible for the District’s health benefits package beginning the first full 30 days of a month beyond the start date with the District. The District currently contributes 90% of the cost of the employee’s medical, dental, and vision insurance.

The District covers the full cost of a life insurance policy of $10,000 face value and participation in an Employee Assistance Program. Eligibility for the District’s deferred compensation (457b) retirement plan begins following the satisfactory completion of a six-month Introductory Period.

Salary Range:
Grade 17 (Steps 1-12) $84,630 – $115,401/annual salary

The office is in the Hamlet of Beavercreek, Oregon. Beavercreek is just five miles south of Oregon City, the county seat of Clackamas County, an area rich in history as the End of the Oregon Trail and the state’s original capital. Located near the southern limits of metropolitan Portland, the area supports a wide diversity of high-quality outdoor recreation opportunities; top rated dining and shopping;

as well as the hub of world class craft-breweries and wineries.

The District resides in a newly constructed state-of-the-art Conservation Resource Center. The 10,851 square foot facility supports the District, NRCS and FSA staff and on a beautiful 15-acre farm that is planned to be utilized as a demonstration site for conservation practices.
