About the Position
UNO Group Construction & Remodeling is a busy residential construction and remodeling company looking for an experienced Interior Designer to join our team full-time in our Kenilworth, NJ office.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative and organizational sides of interior design. You will work directly with homeowners throughout the design and material selection process while coordinating closely with our project managers, vendors, and internal team.
The right candidate will be able to take ownership of the design and selections process from start to finish, keep clients on schedule, stay organized across multiple projects, and confidently make design recommendations based on each client's needs, budget, and overall project vision.
Responsibilities- Build and manage the design and material selection process for residential remodeling projects
- Meet with clients to understand their design preferences, needs, and project goals
- Advise clients on design decisions and make thoughtful product and material recommendations
- Guide homeowners through the material selection process and keep them on track with selection deadlines
- Create and maintain detailed selection, finish, and project schedules
- Manage the procurement process, including coordinating orders, tracking materials, and monitoring deliveries
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, orders, and deliveries
- Create and maintain organized processes and systems to keep selections and projects on track
- Act as the bridge between homeowners, vendors, project managers, and the construction team
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure selections and materials align with project schedules
- Conduct field measurements and site visits as needed
- Maintain accurate records of selections, specifications, and orders
- Manage multiple projects and client selections simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Previous professional interior design experience, preferably within residential construction, remodeling, or a design/build environment
- Strong knowledge of interior finishes, materials, fixtures, cabinetry, flooring, tile, plumbing, lighting, etc.
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to confidently make design recommendations and guide clients through decisions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Comfortable communicating with vendors and coordinating procurement
- Ability to read and understand floor plans and construction drawings
- Proficiency with relevant design and computer software
- Not Required
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Creating floor plans
- 3D modeling or interior renderings
- CAD or other drafting/design software
- Creating presentation boards or visual concepts
We are looking for an experienced, organized, and confident designer who can take ownership of the design and selections process and work well in a fast-paced residential remodeling environment.
This is a full-time, in-house position based out of our Kenilworth, NJ office. We are not looking for a freelance or contract designer.

Pay: $59,252.33 - $71,357.65 per year
