Lead Designer - Design Systems Mountain View me Accessibility

is a next-generation digital identity wallet used by millions across government, healthcare, and consumer brands. As a Lead Design Systems Designer, you will shape how the brand is experienced across every touchpoint, particularly during brand evolution, acting as a bridge between product design, brand expression, and systems thinking. You will work closely with leadership to ensure the design system reflects the brand and empowers teams to create user-focused experiences.

• Collaborate closely with the CMO, CEO and design leadership to integrate the brand’s values and vision into the design system
• Bring a systems-thinking approach to high-level brand conversations and help visualize the brand as a living, dynamic system across digital and physical experiences
• Translate abstract brand concepts (tone, character, purpose) into practical, reusable components
• Ensure the design system serves as both a representation of the brand and a functional toolkit that enhances design consistency and user experience
• Lead transformation of brand values into scalable design elements including color systems, typography, motion, iconography, and interaction models
• Work with brand and design teams to refine visual language while maintaining usability and accessibility
• Guide application of design systems through brand evolution to ensure consistency and flexibility during launches or refreshes
• Act as the connector between brand and product teams, balancing storytelling with usability and functionality needs

• Extensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining design systems at a senior level with a focus on brand integration and scalability
• Deep knowledge of design theory, systems thinking, and brand expression with ability to translate abstract concepts into tangible, scalable solutions
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects from inception through execution
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders
• Experience mentoring and guiding junior designers and promoting a culture of design excellence and continuous learning
