Senior Product Designer

What the role actually is

Nuro is hiring a senior product designer in Mountain View for its autonomous driving product work. The role is a fit for a designer who can turn complex autonomy, operations, and customer requirements into clear product experiences.

This is design work in a real-world robotics setting, where interface decisions have to make autonomous systems understandable to operators, riders, partners, and internal teams.

• Design product flows for autonomous driving services and internal autonomy workflows
• Translate research, operational feedback, and product requirements into interaction patterns
• Prototype and communicate design decisions across product, engineering, and operations
• Improve the clarity of tools used to launch, monitor, and scale Nuro's systems

• Senior product design experience on complex software or technical systems
• Comfort working with ambiguous requirements and cross-functional robotics teams
• Strong interaction design, prototyping, and product thinking
• Ability to connect user needs with autonomy, operations, and business constraints

Autonomy design is rarely just screen design. Nuro is building driverless systems that have to be operated, trusted, and explained across many human touchpoints, which makes this a strong fit for designers who want the messy product layer of robotics.
