We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Architect to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ.

Our firm is a growing, healthcare-focused architectural practice of approximately 40–50 professionals. We work on consequential projects for hospitals, health systems, rural healthcare providers, and specialty care organizations throughout Arizona and the surrounding region. Our work includes new hospitals, major renovations and expansions, emergency departments, surgical platforms, imaging, cardiac services, women’s services, inpatient units, pharmacies, sterile processing departments, and other technically demanding healthcare environments.

The Senior Project Architect is responsible for leading the architectural design and technical execution of complex projects from concept through construction. This role serves as the primary architectural leader on assigned projects, ensuring design excellence, technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and successful project delivery. The Senior Project Architect collaborates closely with clients, consultants, project managers, and internal teams to meet project objectives related to scope, schedule, quality, and budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead architectural projects through all phases of design, documentation, permitting, and construction administration.
  • Develop and oversee project designs, technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, accessibility standards, and industry’s best practices.
  • Review and approve architectural plans, drawings, and technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource and architectural expert for project teams.
  • Manage client relationships and participate in project meetings, presentations, and design reviews.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to support successful project delivery.
  • Identify project risks and develop effective solutions to address technical and design challenges.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews throughout project development.
  • Oversee construction administration activities, including site visits, submittal reviews, RFIs, and change order evaluations.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior architects, designers, and project staff.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client engagement activities.
  • Promote continuous improvement in design processes, project delivery methods, and architectural standards. Coordinate project activities, timelines, deliverables, and resources to support successful project execution.
  • Monitor project schedules and track milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, and action-item logs.
  • Facilitate project meetings and follow up on assigned tasks and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of project goals and priorities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and progress to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project processes and administrative efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and project management standards.
  • Coordinate vendor activities and monitor deliverables when applicable.
  • Maintain project data and reporting within project management tools and systems.
  • Provides entry‑level project support by assisting with basic documentation, organization, and communication to help project teams maintain smooth workflows.
  • Strong commitment to upholding, promoting, and reinforcing ARCHSOL’s standards, processes, values, and forward‑focused initiatives across all clients‑related activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience:

    5
    -8 years of experience supporting architectural projects, assisting with documentation, redlines, coordination tasks, and basic project workflows.
  • Skills:

    Strong administrative and organizational abilities. Basic understanding of design phases and project workflows.
  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch);
    Licensed Architect required.
  • 8-10 years in architectural practice with proven project leadership experience.
  • Strong design and technical expertise. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Advanced skills in leading complex construction documents, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, applying building codes and ADA standards, resolving technical design issues, and overseeing construction administration tasks using tools like Revit and Bluebeam.
