Job Description:

Birdy Design is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our Tulsa studio. This is a creative, hands-on role for a design professional who is equally strong in the creative and technical aspects of interior design and capable of independently developing projects with the guidance and creative direction of the principal owner.

Our work encompasses highly customized luxury residential and boutique commercial interiors. The designer will be involved throughout the full project—from initial concept and space planning through design development, documentation, sourcing, procurement, and final installation.

Responsibilities include developing conceptual designs and client presentations; producing accurate 2D floor plans, elevations and cross sections; creating photorealistic 3D visualizations and client walkthroughs; and developing architectural details for lighting, cabinetry, stone fabrication, ceilings and material transitions.

The designer will also source and specify high-end, to-the-trade, bespoke and artisan furnishings, lighting, textiles, finishes and materials, while collaborating with clients, builders, vendors, fabricators and trades to carry the design vision through completion.

Job Requirements

Candidates should have documented professional interior design experience, preferably within luxury residential and/or boutique commercial interiors, and a portfolio demonstrating both strong design ability and technical proficiency.

Proficiency in Chief Architect or comparable professional design software is required, along with the ability to independently conduct accurate field measurements and translate them into precise 2D plans, elevations and cross sections. Experience producing photorealistic 3D renderings, material overlays and client walkthroughs is also required.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of interior architectural detailing, luxury furnishings and materials, and experience sourcing from high-end, to-the-trade, bespoke and artisan resources.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented and confident working independently within the creative direction of the principal owner. Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced design studio.
