Studio KARO is looking for a Technical Designer to translate creative concepts into well-designed, technically sound and production-ready apparel, jewelry and objects. The role will work across the entire product development process, from interpreting sketches, references and measurements to developing specifications, refining samples and coordinating with manufacturers. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with creative problem-solving and be able to independently find practical solutions that improve the quality and efficiency of product development.

Responsibilities
  • Develop apparel, accessories, jewelry, and objects from concept through production
  • Translate creative direction and sketches into technical drawings, specifications, and production-ready files
  • Create and/or oversee tech packs, CADs, measurements, materials, construction details, etc.
  • Research and recommend appropriate materials, construction methods, and manufacturing techniques
  • Communicate directly with manufacturers and vendors throughout the development process
  • Manage sampling, fit reviews, revisions, and quality control
  • Identify technical or production issues and propose solutions
  • Help establish better product development systems and processes as KARO grows
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in technical design, product development, apparel design, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of apparel/product construction and manufacturing
  • Comfortable creating or working with technical drawings, CAD, tech packs, measurements, and specifications
  • Experience communicating directly with manufacturers
  • Portfolio showing real products you've helped develop
, not just conceptual design work
  • Bonus if you have experience across multiple categories (apparel, jewelry, accessories, home goods, etc.)
