Temporary Designer- Outerwear & Structured Wovens

Our client, a lifestyle fashion brand, is seeking a Temporary Designer to join the team temporarily in their New York office!

Ideally looking for Outerwear and Tailoring experience, along with experience using Procreate, PLM, and hand sketching

• Design and develop seasonal collections across women’s outerwear and structured woven categories, from initial concept through final product.
• Research and interpret relevant fashion, cultural, color, fabric, and trend direction while maintaining a strong understanding of the brand aesthetic.
• Create original hand sketches and technical/design renderings to communicate concepts, details, proportions, and construction.
• Utilize Procreate to develop polished design concepts, illustrations, colorways, and presentation materials.
• Partner closely with Product Development, Merchandising, Technical Design, and other cross-functional teams to bring designs to life.
• Build and maintain accurate product information and updates within PLM throughout the development process.
• Present concepts and design direction clearly to internal stakeholders.
• Develop thoughtful details, fabrications, silhouettes, trims, and construction techniques appropriate for outerwear and structured woven products.

• 5+ years of professional women’s apparel design experience, ideally with a focus on outerwear, jackets, coats, blazers, tailoring, and/or structured wovens.
• Strong understanding of apparel construction, fabrication, fit, proportion, and garment detailing.
• Exceptional hand-sketching skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Procreate for fashion design.
