Exciting Locum Opportunity for an OB Hospitalist in Prestonsburg, KY
Are you a dedicated Physician seeking a dynamic and impactful locum position? Join our team as a Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist, providing vital obstetric care in Prestonsburg, KY. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in delivering exceptional maternity services, supporting both unassigned and private patients, and contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage obstetric cases with anticipated OBHG deliveries, overseeing approximately 200 patients annually.
- Cover Level 2 NICU patients, with daily onsite anesthesia and 24/7 call coverage.
- Provide inpatient labor and delivery care, including GYN surgeries, consults, and outpatient clinics.
- Collaborate with employed OBs for backup during multiple emergencies.
- Support internal medicine rotations related to OB and L&D services.
- Conduct outpatient visits for new and routine patients in clinic settings.
- Contribute to a comprehensive, team-oriented obstetric and gynecological service.
- Valid Medical License and Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
- Proven experience managing labor and delivery in a hospital setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to handle high-acuity obstetric cases confidently.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care standards.
- Experience with Level 2 NICU management.
- Familiarity with remote fetal medicine (MFM) services.
- Prior experience in a hospitalist or locum tenens role.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of obstetric practice, preferably in hospitalist roles.
- Previous experience working in rural or community hospital settings.
- Availability to start on December 31, 2025.
- Flexibility for 24-hour MHAS shifts, including clinic, call, and on-call duties.
- Ability to travel as needed; reimbursement for licensure, certification, and travel expenses when applicable.
- Commitment to working with a supportive team dedicated to delivering high-quality care.
