Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesConduct high-volume comprehensive medical eye examinations with a focus on patient education and long-term ocular health Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and vision conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and therapeutic treatments as appropriate Co-manage pre- and post-operative care for ophthalmic surgical patients Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventative eye care Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation utilizing Mod Med EMR Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, technicians, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care Deliver an exceptional patient experience through compassionate and professional communication Remain current on advancements in medical optometry, treatment protocols, and ophthalmic technology
QualificationsDoctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution Active and unrestricted Arizona optometry license Strong diagnostic, clinical, and communication skills Ability to efficiently manage a high patient volume while maintaining quality of care and patient satisfaction Experience with electronic medical records;
Mod Med experience preferred Commitment to providing outstanding patient-centered care Previous experience in a medical or ophthalmology practice preferred, but not required
This position is ideal for a compassionate, patient-focused Optometrist who thrives in a medically oriented environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate values clinical excellence, stays current with advancements in eye care and vision technology, communicates effectively with patients and staff, and demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and strong ethical standards. Experience in comprehensive medical eye exams, ocular disease management, and co-management of surgical patients is strongly preferred.
