Boston Medical Center, New England’s largest safety net hospital and the primary teaching affiliate of the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, invites applications for the position of Chief of the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Nutrition, and Weight Management in the Department of Medicine. This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished academic clinician leader to guide one of the largest and most dynamic endocrinology sections in the region at an institution nationally recognized for its commitment to health equity, innovation, care for underserved populations, and numerous high impact contributions to the field.
This leadership role offers substantial scope, influence, and institutional support to shape the future direction of endocrine care, education, and research within a mission driven academic medical center.
Position SummaryThe Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Nutrition, and Weight Management is a large academic enterprise with nationally renowned clinical programs and robust research, educational, and training programs. The Chief provides strategic and operational leadership for the clinical, research and academic endeavors of a large, high-volume Section that delivers high quality care to a diverse and underserved patient population while advancing innovations and insights in endocrine-related health and chronic disease management.
The Chief serves as a key member of the Department of Medicine leadership team and works closely with departmental, hospital, and academic partners to ensure clinical excellence, academic and research success, workforce development, and financial sustainability, aligning section priorities with the Department of Medicine and institutional mission.

>54,000 total outpatient visits annually (FY25), making this one of the busiest specialty clinics at BMC
Comprehensive inpatient consult services
Primary clinical site at BMC, with additional care delivery at satellite locations
Close integration with multiple subspecialties and primary care

Integrated Interdisciplinary Clinical Programs:
Program in Adrenal Disorders, including a Specialized Center for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Primary Aldosteronism with partnerships with endocrine surgeons
Multidisciplinary Thyroid Cancer and Nodule program with thyroid surgeons
Interdisciplinary Pituitary Program with clinics jointly staffed with endocrine surgeons
Multispecialty Resistant Hypertension Clinic partnered with Nephrology and Cardiology
Gender Care Center includes partnerships with Psychiatry/Behavioral health, Social Work, and other relevant specialties.
Multidisciplinary Bariatric Surgery Program involving collaboration with the surgery department and our Obesity Medicine Program
Multidisicplinary Incidentaloma clinic, with direct referrals from Radiology for incidental thyroid and adrenal nodules (Surgery and Endocrine)
