Established Oncology Service Outside of the Research Triangle Park in NC!

Join an established outpatient oncology practice with First Health of the Carolinas
. We are seeking a compassionate Hematologist/Oncologist to become part of our dedicated cancer care team in Sanford, North Carolina. This is a rewarding opportunity to practice in a collaborative, patient-focused environment—without the burden of inpatient call.

About the Opportunity
  • Outpatient-only schedule — no inpatient consults or hospital rounds.
  • Established referral base with consistent patient flow.
  • Team-based care: supported by an experienced NP, RN, CMA, and full admin staff.
  • Infusion suite on site with chemo-certified nurses.
  • Access to system-wide support including specialty pharmacy, nurse navigators, and integrative medicine.
  • Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards for collaborative case reviews.
  • Clinical trials support is available if interested in research. Our clinical trials program received the Gold Seal Award from SCOR and NCI.
  • Benefit from the resources of the new ACoS accredited First Health Cancer Center in Pinehurst —a state-of-the-art, 120,000-square-foot facility offering fully integrated oncology care. The center includes modern treatment spaces, palliative care, patient navigation and support services, nutrition counseling, a wellness center, and a healing garden designed to promote whole-person care.

Qualifications
  • Completion of ACGME- or AOA-approved residency and fellowship programs and board certification.
  • Clean background, unrestricted NC medical licensure, NC DEA and AHA BLS certification.
  • Completion of ACGME- or AOA-approved residency and fellowship programs, and board certification required.
  • Though not a formal leadership role, leadership skills are desired.
