Overview

Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor, Immunotherapy (IMTX) and Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Programs, on the full‑time clinical faculty pathway with an approximate 80:20 contribution to clinical service and academic pursuits.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full‑time faculty member at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutch and the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine at the UW. The primary appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch.

Academic appointment at the University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.

The selected individual for the advertised position is expected to contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research in transplantationand/or immunotherapy. All clinical and translational research experiences and interests will be considered, and expertise and focus in allogeneic and autologous transplantation and cellular immunotherapy is highly desirable. The position may also involve participation in the administrative, research, and instructional activities of the Clinical Research Division.

Teaching responsibilities involve oversight of trainees during outpatient and inpatient clinical activities, and lectures. Additionally, the selected candidate will be expected to recruit and care for trial patients.

The primary, annual appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch. The position will report to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch and the Division Head of Hematology and Oncology.

Applicants must have:

  • MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Completion of an ACGME‑accredited fellowship in Medical Oncology, Hematology, or Hematology/Oncology (or foreign equivalent)
  • ABIM board certification and maintenance of certification in Medical Oncology, Hematology, or both, as applicable to the candidate's training (or foreign equivalent)
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Washington

The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated record of clinical care with a primary focus on hematopoietic cell transplantation and/or cellular immunotherapy.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $339,704 to $366,201 for faculty hired at the Assistant Professor rank, and from $394,718 to $423,138 for faculty hired at the Associate Professor rank. Pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Pay for Faculty positions is based on a variety of factors, including degree, specialty, clinical practice and experience.
