Chair, Heart & Vascular Institute - Geisinger Health
Danville, PA
Enterprise Physician Executive Opportunity
Geisinger, one of the nation's most innovative and forward-thinking health systems, is seeking a Chair, Heart & Vascular Institute to lead one of its most strategically important clinical service lines. This is not a traditional department chair position — it is one of a small number of senior physician-executive roles at the enterprise level, with a seat on the Physician Leadership Council and other system governance forums, and a true dyad partnership.
Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Institute spans cardiovascular/CT surgery, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure, vascular surgery, congenital cardiology, and diagnostic cardiology. Geisinger is in an active growth and transformation phase — backed by its landmark partnership with Risant Health and Kaiser Permanente, a $2B+ Master Facilities Plan, and deep investment in AI-enabled and technology-driven care — offering the next leader a rare opportunity to build a nationally distinguished cardiovascular program from a position of real institutional support.
The Next Chair Will Offer
- Demonstrated experience leading a large, multi-site heart & vascular institute, service line, or department
- Ability to earn trust and credibility among cardiologists, surgeons, and physician leaders
- Track record of executing long-term growth and value-based care strategy
- Success improving operational, quality, and financial performance at scale
- Experience partnering effectively in a physician-administrator dyad model
- Ability to lead organizations through change, integration, or transformation
- Ability to advance a high-performing institute along its path toward becoming the nationally recognized blueprint for value-based cardiovascular care delivery
