Pain Management Specialist (Anesthesiology or PM&R Pain Management)
Murfreesboro VA | Tennessee Valley Healthcare System
Salary: $330,000-$370,000 per year
Schedule:
Monday-Friday (hours based on service needs)
Key
Duties Include:
- Apply advanced knowledge of pathophysiology, neurochemical, and psychological aspects of pain management.
- Evaluate Veterans with chronic pain, including targeted history and physical examination, and interpretation of radiological studies.
- Proficiently perform diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures, such as:
- Radio frequency techniques
- Spinal cord stimulator implantation
- Caudal and epidural blocks
- Lumbar sympathetic blocks
- Upper and lower plexus blocks
- Manage spinal opioids and implant intrathecal pumps for chronic pain control.
- Communicate effectively (oral and written) with interdisciplinary professional staff and management.
- Provide educational support to Pain Clinic staff, Primary Care Providers, and other physicians regarding pain management.
- Assist with Pain Clinic schedules and the development of clinic policies and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an Anesthesiology or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency
- Completion of a fellowship in Pain Management
- Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Board of PM&R
