The facility is seeking locum tenens coverage due to a staffing vacancy, as the employed physician is departing and a new permanent hire has not yet been assigned a start date. The clinical team includes NP support across both inpatient and clinic settings, and credentialing typically requires 60 days, with temporary privileges available.

Aboutthe Clinician's Workday
The infectious disease physician will provide primarily inpatient consultative and management services, with two half-day clinic sessions per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The clinician will manage approximately 25 adult patients per day in the inpatient setting and 10 patients per half-day clinic session, with clinical duties including IV antibiotic management and Hepatitis C treatment. The physician will supervise one on-site NP who assists in both the inpatient and clinic settings.
No call coverage is required for this assignment. Board certification or board eligibility in Infectious Disease through ABIM or AOA is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active Kentucky medical license or IMLC.
