PURPOSE:
The Pediatrics Physician works to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare (NHC) by providing excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. This role will provide comprehensive medical services to pediatric patients. In addition, this role will educate and promote healthy choices to parents and their children.
Schedule- 2 days a week, 8 AM - 5 PM (16 hour week)
- Reviews patient records, including allergies, problems, medications,and immunization statuses
- Elicits anddocumentsinformation about patient’s medical history
- Examinessymptoms to gather more information about the patient’sphysical condition
- Orders and executes various tests, analyses,and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition
- Analyzes reports and findings of tests,examinations,and diagnosestounderstand the patient’s current condition
- Administers or prescribes treatmentsto patients
- Determine sand prescribes medications, dosages,and schedulesgiven patientconditionsand allergies
- Discussespossible side effects to medicationsor immunizationswith patient sand parents
- Prescribes and administers vaccinations to immunize patients from communicable diseases
- Promotes health byadvisingpatients and parents about diets, hygiene,and methods for prevention of disease
- Performs surgical procedurescorrespondingto surgicalcompetencies
- Refers patients to medical specialistsfor consultant servicesforpatients’well-being, as needed
- Documents patient visits,including medical histories, physical exams, diagnoses,and plansof action
- Follows up with patientsregardingprogress inhigh riskor emergency cases
- Conductsphysical examinations to patients for information needed for admission to schools, consideration for jobs,or eligibility for insurance coverage
- Shares accountability for overall patient health outcomes by working in coordination withcare teams
- Operates to instill confidence in our care and in our facilities to patients,fellow employees, and other stakeholders
- Assessestraining needs and promotesdevelopmental activities for the team
- Maintains professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients, and the public
- Cooperates inaccomplishingdepartment goals and objectives
EXPERIENCE:
- Doctorate in medicine is
required - Active California Medical license in good standing is required
- Current CA DEA licensure is
required
