DescriptionThe Division of Gynecologic Oncology at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) is recruiting a full-time Gynecologic Oncologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The Division of Gynecologic Oncology currently comprises 8 gynecologic oncologists and is distinguished by its integration of clinical excellence, translational research, and academic training.
Physicians work closely with specialists in medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, genetics, and supportive care to deliver individualized, evidence-based treatment plans. As part of a leading academic medical center, the division is deeply committed to education—training residents, fellows, and medical students while contributing to national guidelines and advancements in gynecologic cancer care. The Division is led by Dr. Floor Backes and continues to grow its reputation as a center of excellence by advancing minimally invasive and complex oncologic surgery, expanding clinical trial portfolios, and fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient-centered care and translational research.
Her vision emphasizes innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and academic excellence—positioning the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Ohio State as a leader in both clinical care and research for women’s cancers.
- MD or DO degree
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Gynecologic Oncology fellowship
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Gynecologic Oncology
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Ohio
- Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, patient-centered care, and collaboration
- Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is a nationally recognized academic department dedicated to advancing women’s health through excellence in clinical care, education, research, and innovation.
