Medical Director – Supervising Physician, Part-Time

• Lead clinically for a team of nurse practitioners and future physician associates
• Maintain standardized procedures for each nurse practitioner under California Business & Professions Code §2836.1
• Furnish supervision within California's four-NP limit
• Remain available for clinical questions by Ring Central chat or phone during clinic hours
• Participate in a shared backup arrangement if needed
• Lead a weekly 45-minute clinician huddle on Ring Central Video
• Conduct monthly chart reviews of approximately ten charts per clinician for calibration
• Review protocols and directives within five business days
• Participate in peer review when needed
• Provide physician sign-offs for standardized procedures, clinical protocols, clinical-staff training attestations, licenses, certificates, and enrollments
• Serve as physician of record for requirements such as the CLIA waiver
• Enroll and remain enrolled as supervising and contracting physician with Medicare, Medi-Cal, Regal Medical Group, and commercial plans
• Participate in credentialing, recredentialing, and audits
• Provide clinical input on new service lines and the Downtown Los Angeles practice platform
• Provide physician oversight of HUNTI's AI-assisted intake and care pathways
• Serve as physician shareholder and officer of the affiliated professional corporation
• Attend a 30-minute monthly governance check-in with the CEO
• Coordinate day to day with the compliance manager and counsel
• Attend one on-site day per quarter
• Work primarily online using Rippling, Ring Central, and Dr Chrono
• Optionally provide paid telehealth sessions

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted California MD or DO license
• DEA registration
• Board certification in family medicine, internal medicine, or infectious disease, or equivalent primary care training
• No exclusions or sanctions with OIG, SAM, or Medi-Cal
• Clean, disclosed malpractice history
• Room under California supervision limits; currently supervising fewer than four NPs and four PAs elsewhere
• Experience with LGBTQ+ health, HIV/PrEP, gender-affirming care, or sexual health strongly preferred
• Comfortable using Rippling, Ring Central, and an EHR
• California residence required;
  Los Angeles-based preferred
• Reliable same-business-day responsiveness to Ring Central messages
• Ability to sign documents within two business days
• Availability by phone for urgent clinical questions during Monday–Friday clinic hours
• Approximately 8–10 hours per week available
• Independent-contractor and professional-corporation arrangement, not employment
