Opportunity Details- Evaluate patients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms and determine the appropriate course of treatment.
- Stabilize patients in crisis, often involving conditions such as severe depression, psychosis, suicidal ideation, or substance intoxication.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and coordinate care.
- Prescribe and manage medications, often with a focus on antipsychotics, antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and anxiolytics.
- Perform psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations and risk assessments.
- Deliver psychoeducation to patients and their families, including information about diagnoses, treatment options, and crisis prevention strategies.
- Document all patient interactions and treatment plans in accordance with medical record-keeping standards.
- Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in emergency psychiatry.
- Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants as needed.
- Provide supervision and education to medical students and residents.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
- Active New York State Medical License.
Annual Base Salary: $267,900* (board eligible); $278,200* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $438,690** (board eligible) and $450,020** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
- Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.
- Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
- 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
- Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
