New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center (NYPCC) is seeking aMedical
Director to provide clinical leadership and psychiatric oversight across our Article
31 outpatient mental health clinicslocatedin the Bronx, Bushwick, East New York and Jackson Heights.
This role combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services in compliance withthe New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH).
TheMedical Directorwill supervise prescribers, support interdisciplinary care, and collaborate with executive leadership to advance clinical quality and program development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providemedicaloversight for psychiatric services across outpatient clinics
- Supervise and mentor psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning
- Ensure compliance with OMH regulations and clinical standards
- Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and performance improvement initiatives
- Monitor prescribing practices and support safe medication management
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership on program development and strategic initiatives
- Support interdisciplinary care coordination andparticipatein case conferences
- M.D.from an accreditedmedicalschool
- Active and unrestricted New York State physician license
- Board-certification in
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred - ActiveDEA registration
- Minimum3 years of psychiatric clinical experience, preferably inanoutpatient setting
- Leadership or supervisory experience in behavioral health settings
- Experience with OMH Article 31 clinics and regulatory standards
- Familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare and value-based care models
- Experience working with serious mental illness populations
Skills:
- Strong diagnostic and psychopharmacological treatment expertise
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and quality care
Reporting Structure:
TheMedical Directorreports to the Chief Executive Officer and Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer and works closely with clinical and program leadership.
