About the Facility

This hospital provides inpatient and clinic-based urological services within an established clinical environment. The facility maintains structured clinical protocols and administrative support systems to facilitate coordinated urological patient management. On-site resources, including an experienced APRN and a full-time physician, are available to support clinicians throughout each assigned coverage period.

About the Facility Location

Eastern Kentucky offers clinicians on assignment a range of regional attractions suited to diverse interests. The state provides access to outdoor recreation, heritage experiences, and cultural destinations throughout the region, including noted natural landmarks, distillery heritage, and horse country. Clinicians may explore a variety of activities and local amenities during time away from clinical duties.

About the Clinician's Workday

This locum tenens assignment requires a urologist to provide day shift, call, and 24-hour call coverage across inpatient and clinic settings on an on-site basis. Afternoon clinic hours run from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, with an average volume of approximately 15 patients per clinic day; inpatient consult volume is approximately 15 per day, though volume may vary. Clinicians should be comfortable providing general urological care encompassing lithotripsy, management of urinary obstruction, ureteral stenting, difficult Foley catheter placement, nephrostomy management, and potential testicular torsion cases.

Nighttime in-person response is expected to be limited, as true urologic emergencies requiring immediate on-site intervention are infrequent; however, clinicians must remain available for nighttime transfer acceptance calls. Board certification in Urology is negotiable for consideration.
