Minimum Qualifications:
- At least five years of successful experience in teaching
- A master’s degree or higher; a valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate
- Thorough knowledge of Kentucky’s Educational reform and its implementation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and teaching skills in all areas of mathematics (KAS mathematics standards, mathematical practices, discourse, and critical thinking)
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in working with adult learners
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Reports To:
Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning
Support teachers in assigned schools in mathematics. Focus areas include implementation of KAS for mathematics (including a concentration in mathematical practices, discourse, and critical thinking), curriculum implementation guidance, learning loss recovery, and demonstration of increased student learning.
Performance Responsibilities- Coach building level staff members to enhance their ability in supporting students as they demonstrate a high level of accomplishment in mathematics.
- Work with the building Principal and Level Director to develop and implement activities supporting the enhancement of individuals teaching skills.
- Engage in professional development to enhance personal professional knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with Instructional Support Coordinators in training and providing assistance to staff in assigned schools to support curriculum implementation, professional learning, and partnerships with PLCs and teachers focused on tier 1 instruction.
- Develop and analyze needs assessment data.
- Assume all other duties as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent.
Compensation will be at 192 days based on the board‑approved teacher salary schedule.
