Qualifications- Kentucky Teaching Certificate with proper endorsements.
- Additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Provide professional leadership within school, community, and education profession to improve student learning as well as support district and state initiatives.
- Demonstrate content knowledge within assigned discipline(s) or program and in applications to other disciplines.
- Plan, implement and assess instruction designed to develop students’ abilities to use certain skills, apply core concepts, insure students become self‑sufficient individuals, responsible team members, with the ability to think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
- Assess student learning using a variety of tools consistent with Kentucky’s Assessment Program; communicate results to students, parents and staff; make referrals for extra services as necessary; use assessment results to design appropriate instructional activities; create and supervise a learning climate that supports student achievement and safety.
- Evaluate teaching effectiveness based on student achievement in relation to student attainment of Kentucky’s learning goals.
- Use technology to support instruction; access and manipulate data; enhance professional growth and productivity; communicate and collaborate with colleagues, parents and the community; and conduct research / solve problems.
- Participate in required training relative to teaching assignments, supervisor approved professional growth plan, school / district initiatives, or as directed by Principal.
- Secure and make use of school and community resources; communicate regularly with parents and guardians of students.
- Adhere to school, district, state and federal policies, regulations and laws.
- Participate in school‑related activities, programs or meetings as assigned by Principal and/or the Superintendent.
- Maintain a variety of records as required by school district policies, state and federal law or as assigned by Principal.
- Provide instruction specific to teaching assignment consistent with school and district program requirements or curriculum, Kentucky’s Core Content for Assessment, Program of Studies and national teacher standards.
- Serve as a member of the ARC (Admissions, Release Committee) in determining eligibility of students for special education programs; assist in development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of IEP (Individual Education Plan).
- All other duties assigned by Superintendent and Principal.
