Summary

Elliott County High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Math Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring students to excel in mathematics. This full‑time position requires a creative approach to teaching and the ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. The Math Teacher will play a crucial role in developing students’ critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills while preparing them for future academic pursuits.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state curriculum standards and promote student learning in various mathematical concepts.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through regular assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding academic performance and behavior.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay current with developments in mathematics education and integrate technology and innovative practices into the curriculum.
  • Supervise and mentor students during extracurricular activities, such as math clubs or competitions, to foster a love for mathematics outside the classroom.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification in Mathematics for the appropriate grade level.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to convey them effectively to students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience in teaching high school mathematics preferred, with a proven track record of student success.
  • Proficient in using educational technology and software to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for inspiring students to achieve their full potential in mathematics.
