Teacher of Visually Impaired in Cave , KY

Step into a meaningful role as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, focusing on two elementary students and making a real difference in their educational journey. In this part-time contract position for the  academic year, youll work two days per week in a supportive elementary school setting, ensuring students receive the specialized instruction and guidance they need to thrive.

• Valid certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in accordance with state requirements
• Experience working with elementary students, ideally in a school setting
• Strong skills adapting instructional materials for varying levels of visual ability
• Commitment to helping students build compensatory and functional life skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially when coordinating with teachers and school staff
• Ability to document services provided and track student progress accurately

• Deliver direct and consultative TVI services tailored to each students Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Adapt curriculum and instructional resources to address each students unique needs
• Foster independence by teaching vital compensatory strategies
• Work hand-in-hand with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff to foster an inclusive environment
• Maintain diligent records and regularly update progress reports for students and staff
