Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Fulton County High School is seeking an exceptional Chemistry Teacher for the school year.
REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Kentucky Teacher Certificate or Statement of Eligibility
PREFERENCE:
Experience teaching Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science
POSITION TITLE: HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER
RESPONSIBLE TO: SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
QUALIFICATIONS: CERTIFICATION FROM EPSB
BASIC FUNCTION:
To organize and deliver instruction based on classroom plans provided, monitor and evaluate student progress; maintain records and make reports; enforce Board policies, regulations, and rules; supervise students, and secure and maintain school property and materials.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Creates and maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like in order to communicate these objectives to students.
- Employs instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives, prepares for classes, and maintains written evidence of preparation.
- Assists the administration in implementing Board policies, administrative regulations and school rules governing student life and conduct, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides timely progress reports and counseling to parents as required concerning academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
- Participates in parent/teacher conferences as necessary to assist the parent’s participation and support of a child’s education.
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
- Continues personal professional growth and upgrading of skills appropriate to teaching assignments.
- Attends staff meetings, serves of staff committees, and accepts a share of responsibility for extracurricular activities.
- Attend school dances, prom, graduation, and honors events (specific to school).
- Works the gate for two athletic events per year.
- Duties may include performance of health services, for which training will be provided.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Complete all mandatory training and attend in-service sessions.
- Perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Consistently displays self-control with parents, students, and school personnel.
- Maintains a clean workstation (Desk, office, etc.).
- Be clean, neat and appropriately/professionally dressed.
- Be consistently responsible and display an attitude of honesty and credibility.
- Show enthusiasm, interest and concern for the total program and its efficient operation.
- Maintains student control.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner.
- Demonstrate positive behavior toward the purposes and goals of the Fulton County School District.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
OTHER
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be consistently responsible-maintaining regular punctual attendance and timely completion of assigned duties, working assigned contract and extended days and using sick and personal leave appropriately.
- Maintain professional interpersonal skills using tact, patience, courtesy and cooperative effective relationships with other consistently displaying self-control, honesty and credibility with parents, students, visitors, and school personnel.
- Act as a district liaison demonstrating positive behavior, interest and concern toward the programs, purposes, goals and efficient operation of the Fulton County School District.
