The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This position requires flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to implement lesson plans provided by the teacher or school staff.
Criteria for Substitute Teachers with Less than 64 hours- Individuals may substitute as an instructional assistant to gain experience in the classroom after passing the Para Educator Assessment administered by SkillsU
- After 50 days of substituting as an instructional assistant the individual may reapply for substitute teacher with the recommendation of a district principal who has supervised the individual as an instructional assistant.
