Summary
Providence Elementary School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Arts & Humanities Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. This full‑time position is designed for an innovative educator who is committed to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a love for the arts in our students. The ideal candidate will inspire young minds through engaging lessons in visual arts, music, literature, and social studies, creating a comprehensive learning environment that promotes cultural awareness and appreciation.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum in the areas of visual arts, music, literature, and social studies that aligns with state standards and school objectives.
- Create lesson plans that engage students in hands‑on activities, discussions, and projects that encourage creativity and critical thinking.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including projects, presentations, and written assignments, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate arts and humanities into other subjects and school‑wide initiatives.
- Organize and participate in school events, performances, and exhibitions that showcase student work and promote community involvement.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and trends in arts education.
- Contribute to the overall mission and vision of Providence Elementary School by promoting a positive school culture and supporting student success.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid teaching certification in the relevant subject area.
- Proven experience teaching arts and humanities at the elementary level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and instructional strategies in the arts and humanities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A passion for fostering creativity and a love for the arts among young learners.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment and contribute positively to the school community. - Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of education.
- Familiarity with technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
