Job DescriptionMUNIS Code: 2040. Full‑time elementary classroom teacher for the 2026-27 school year, working 185 days.
Qualifications- Proper Kentucky certification in Elementary Education.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Physical fitness.
- Tuberculosis risk assessment.
- State/national criminal background check, CAN check, and drug screen.

Duties and Responsibilities- Utilize an appropriate variety of material and activities to facilitate lesson objectives.
- Maintain a high rate of time on task with students and ensure instructional engagement.
- Demonstrate a caring and professional attitude toward students, colleagues, parents, and superiors.
- Use effective questioning and motivational strategies to support student learning.
- Monitor student learning continuously and assume responsibility for student progress.
- Manage classroom behavior, foster a positive student–teacher relationship, and use acceptable discipline methods in compliance with policies.
- Prepare lesson plans aligned with objectives and keep current copies for substitutes.
- Participate in regular faculty meetings; engage in curriculum research or professional development activities only when they do not interfere with classroom work.
- Maintain a neat, orderly classroom conducive to learning.
- Ensure students make up missed work for legitimate absences.
- Maintain professional dress and mastery of written and spoken communication.
- Promote the academic and social welfare of students and model respectful conduct.
- Collaborate with parents/guardians to discuss student progress with openness and courtesy.
- Participate in extended school or community affairs as reasonably required.
- Continuously upgrade professional skills through committees, workshops, and organizations.
- Accept outside employment only if it does not interfere with professional duties.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the administration.
