Job DescriptionPreschool-Head Start Teacher (IECE) at Fulton County Elementary School. The school offers a blended Preschool Program with children aged 3 and 4. Immediate opening.
Position SummaryPreschool Interventions/After School Social Emotional – help students acquire information and skills that will contribute to their development into mature, able, and responsible individuals.
Qualifications- Holds an IECE Certification as required by EPSB or is in the process of obtaining one.
- Proven ability to work effectively with students.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
Principal and Director of Preschool.
SupervisesStudents and instructional/general aides as assigned.
Performance Responsibilities- Instruct assigned classes and students at the locations and times designated by the Principal or Head Start Director.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within district resources.
- Prepare daily written lesson plans and provide evidence of preparation upon request.
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with location limitations and student needs.
- Implement the district’s philosophy of education, instructional goals, objectives, and Kentucky Core Content for Assessment.
- Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Evaluate student progress regularly, implement IEPs and curriculum outlines as appropriate, and provide progress reports to parents.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers; collaborate with the principal to evaluate performance.
- Be available to students and parents outside the instructional day as reasonable terms require.
- Attend faculty meetings, committee meetings, staff development, and in-service programs.
- Cooperate with staff to plan instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Share responsibility for co‑curricular activities as needed.
- Maintain open communication with students and parents about academic and behavioral progress.
- Maintain cooperative relations with others.
- Pursue professional growth through reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and advanced coursework.
- Perform additional duties as needed or assigned under Board policies.
185‑day employee with salary determined by the adopted teacher’s salary schedule of the Fulton County Schools Board of Education.
EvaluationPerformance evaluated in accordance with the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
Job Requirements- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
