Classroom Teacher
Immediate Supervisor:
Principal
Job Qualifications:
Valid teaching certificate for the appropriate grade or subject area
Specific Duties :
1.Responsible for fulfilling the teacher job requirements as stated in the Kentucky Revises Statutes.
2.Meet and instruct assigned classes at the time designated.
3.Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
4.Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
5.Require students to maintain standard of classroom behavior.
6.Employ a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies.
7.Strive to implement the district’s philosophy and educational goals.
8.Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
9.Evaluate student progress on a regular basis.
10.Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
11.Assist in upholding, enforcing, and implementing school rules, administrative regulations, board policy, and state mandates.
12.Attend and participate in faculty meetings.
13.Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
14.Assist in the selection of instructional materials.
15.Accept responsibility for co-curricular activities.
16.Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all students.
17.Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with others.
18.Provide for own professional growth through workshops, seminars, conferences, and professional learning sessions.
19. Understand and implement individualized educational plans and 504 plans effectively, including collaboration and co- teaching with appropriate special education staff members as needed.
20.Supervise students as assigned by principal or designee.
21.Perform other duties assigned by the principal or superintendent.
