Health/PE Teacher, Bath Co High School
Bath County High School – Owingsville, Kentucky. Open position for a Health and Physical Education Teacher.
Qualifications- Kentucky Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements.
- Additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Provide professional leadership within the school, community, and education profession to improve student learning and support district and state initiatives.
- Demonstrate content knowledge within assigned discipline(s) or program and in applications to other disciplines.
- Plan, implement, and assess instruction designed to develop students’ abilities to apply core concepts and use skills. Support students in becoming self‑sufficient, responsible, and problem‑solving team members.
- Assess student learning using tools consistent with Kentucky’s Assessment Program; communicate results to students, parents, and staff; make referrals for extra services as necessary; use assessment results to design appropriate instructional activities.
- Create and supervise a learning climate that supports student achievement and safety.
- Evaluate teaching effectiveness based on student achievement and attainment of Kentucky’s learning goals.
- Use technology to support instruction, access and manipulate data, enhance professional growth and productivity, communicate and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community, and conduct research/solve problems.
- Participate in required training relative to teaching assignments, the approved professional growth plan, school/district initiatives, or as directed by the Principal.
- Secure and use school and community resources; communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
- Adhere to school, district, state, and federal policies, regulations and laws.
- Participate in school‑related activities, programs or meetings as assigned by the Principal and/or the Superintendent.
- Maintain a variety of records as required by school district policies, state and federal law or as assigned by the Principal.
- Provide instruction specific to the teaching assignment consistent with the school and district program requirements or curriculum, Kentucky’s Core Content for Assessment, Program of Studies, and national teacher standards.
- Serve as a member of the Admissions, Release Committee (ARC) in determining eligibility of students for special education programs; assist in development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of IEPs.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Superintendent and Principal.
