Certified Teacher (K-5 Art)
Position Summary
Muhlenberg South Elementary is seeking passionate, energetic, and student-centered educators who believe every child can succeed. We are looking for teachers who bring creativity, enthusiasm, and heart to the classroom while building strong relationships with students and families.
Using the Kentucky Academic Standards, teachers design engaging and meaningful learning experiences that inspire creativity, critical thinking, confidence, and student growth. Our teachers create positive classroom environments where students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Qualifications
- Kentucky teaching certificate, license, or other legal credential required
- Experience and additional qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent
Supervises: Students, instructional assistants, and/or clerical assistants
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Student Learning
- Design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned to Kentucky Academic Standards
- Foster creativity, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration through meaningful learning experiences
- Create a positive classroom environment with high expectations for all students
- Build strong relationships with students and families
- Promote student responsibility, confidence, and self-discipline
- Support students' academic, social, and emotional growth
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and administrators to support student success
- Participate in professional learning, school initiatives, and staff meetings
- Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress effectively
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Support school policies and contribute positively to the school community
- Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
- Assist with school responsibilities and assessments as needed
Note: This position is funded through Title I allocations and is contingent upon the availability of Title I funds.
