• Plans, organizes and delivers instruction based on an approved curriculum.
• Monitors, evaluates, and communicates student progress.
• Maintains records and prepares reports as required.
• Enforces Board policies, regulations, and rules.
• Supervises students and secures and maintains school property and materials.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Creates and maintains a conducive classroom environment appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
• Guides the learning process toward achieving curriculum goals, establishing lesson, unit, and project objectives.
• Employs suitable instructional methods and materials, prepares for classes, and documents preparation.
• Assists administration in implementing Board policies, develops classroom behavior rules, and maintains order fairly and consistently.
• Assesses students’ accomplishments, provides progress reports, and counsels parents regarding academics and behavior.
• Is available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside instructional day as required.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and policy.
• Continues personal and professional growth and upgrades skills appropriate to teaching assignments.
• Attends staff meetings, serves on staff committees, and participates in extracurricular activities as designated.
• Performs duties assigned by supervisor, including performance of health services as trained.

The work is performed while standing or walking and requires effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing. The position requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work sometimes requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling light weights.

• Kentucky certification appropriate to the grade level and curricular assignment.
• Experience and preparation as required by the Board.
