Classroom Teacher

Immediate Supervisor:
Principal

• Responsible for fulfilling the teacher job requirements as stated in the Kentucky Revises Statutes.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes at the time designated.
• Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
• Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
• Require students to maintain standard of classroom behavior.
• Employ a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies.
• Strive to implement the district’s philosophy and educational goals.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Evaluate student progress on a regular basis.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
• Assist in upholding, enforcing, and implementing school rules, administrative regulations, board policy, and state mandates.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings.
• Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Assist in the selection of instructional materials.
• Accept responsibility for co-curricular activities.
• Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all students.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with others.
• Provide for own professional growth through workshops, seminars, conferences, and professional learning sessions.
• Understand and implement individualized educational plans and 504 plans effectively, including collaboration and co‑teaching with appropriate special education staff members as needed.
• Supervise students as assigned by principal or designee.
• Perform other duties assigned by the principal or superintendent.

Valid teaching certificate for the appropriate grade or subject area.
