Job DescriptionQualifications: Valid certification as determined by the Kentucky Department of Education, Division of Educator Licensure and Quality.
Reports To: Principal, Assistant Principals, Directors
Job Goal: To create a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to lead students toward fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff.
Terms of Employment: Salary and terms according to approved salary schedules.
Evaluations: Performance evaluated in accordance with the district evaluation plan.
Performance Responsibilities- Teach assigned classes using state and local programs of study adopted by the Floyd County Board of Education; provide other appropriate learning activities.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials; provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt curriculum to each pupil’s needs.
- Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize instructional time.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior and good citizenship needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
- Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, keep records, and prepare progress reports.
- Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil progress and interpret the school program.
- Create an effective and safe environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and learning centers.
- Identify pupils’ needs and cooperate with other staff members to assess and help pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems, including but not limited to development and implementation of IEP and GSSP.
- Maintain competence through professional growth activities as identified by individual or school needs.
- Administer assessments in accordance with district and state guidelines; participate in faculty committees and supervise pupil activities.
- Report to the classroom at least fifteen minutes prior to school opening and remain at least fifteen minutes after closing time.
- Maintain reports and records required by regulations of the Floyd County Board of Education and Kentucky Revised Statutes.
- Monitor and address student’s physical, emotional, and intellectual needs on an ongoing informal basis.
- Communicate challenging scholastic expectations in a clear, positive, continuous manner.
- Establish and maintain standards of mutually respectful behavior.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Salary: $40,080 Per Year
