Qualifications:
Certification as a counselor. Additional qualifications as approved by the superintendent or Board may be acceptable.
Reports to:
Principal. Supervisions: N/A. Job Goals:
Aid students in taking full advantage of educational opportunities, assist in establishing reasonable occupational and life plans, and provide individual counseling to help students through various stages of personal development.
Planning & Preparation
- Demonstrating knowledge of counseling theory and techniques
- Demonstrating knowledge of child and adolescent development
- Establishing goals for the counseling program appropriate to the setting and the students served
- Demonstrating knowledge of state and federal regulations and of resources both within and beyond the school and district
- Plan in the counseling program integrated with the regular school program
- Developing a plan to evaluate the counseling program

Salary and work year to be established by the superintendent and the Board.
