Job Summary

Extension Assistant for 4‑H Youth Development – Owsley County.

Location:

Booneville, KY.

As an Extension Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the 4‑H Youth Development program area and County Agent(s). Responsibilities include program support, teaching, recruitment & marketing, record keeping, managing Quick Books, maintaining budget files, promoting and organizing new 4‑H clubs, recruiting members and volunteer leaders, supporting existing clubs, recruiting volunteers for events, and serving all clientele. The role requires interaction with the general public and adherence to Cooperative Extension Service philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Driver’s License (required).
  • State law requires a national and state criminal background check and a child‑abuse background check clearance.
  • Physical ability to travel within the county, sit/stand/walk for long periods, and handle objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Full‑time availability Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with occasional nights, weekends or holidays.
Preferred Education / Experience

Education or prior experience working with youth and administrative support roles.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Publisher, Office 365, Teams, Skype for Business, Zoom).
  • Quick Books.
Salary Range

$15.30 – $16.30 per hour.
